Few of the huskies who had seen Naomi's briefing of the new pack members would recognize her in her meeting with Juanita later that day. Her arrogant dynamism was replaced with submission. Part of Naomi's dog psychology was a tendency to relate to Juanita as her master/pack leader, so she was determined to carry out "Miss J's" wishes.
"Naomi, we've decided what to do about Spike. We're going to return him to the herd as a fawn. That means we need a doe to be his mother. It's a temporary thing, his stay is up in two weeks and it won't be extended. Do you know any of the current does who would be interested in taking him on? Preferably someone a little apart from the present situation in the herd."
"There are a few that might be--I'll have them approached."
"I understand that other anthro females are actually trying to get pregnant now?"
"Yes, Miss J."
"We need to get in touch with them so we can monitor their conceptions and pregnancies early--not get caught flat-footed like we did with Leticia."

*This is turning into a job* Jackie thought, taking a temporary respite from her vigorous lovemaking with Keith. The problem was that since she had only signed on for a one-month visit to the park, she couldn't simply rely on her periods to tell her when she had actually conceived. Unless the pregnancy manifested itself obviously by the time that she was scheduled to leave, she would have to rely on the scanner at the transformation reversal. And Keith's time was up three days before that--would he have to go temporarily feral until the pregnancy was confirmed? She looked over at Keith's sprawling body as he slept.
A husky approached. This was unusual, as the huskies didn't ordinarily initiate contact with guests.
"Can I talk with you?" Katie asked.
"Uh, OK."
"We heard that you're trying to get pregnant?"
Jackie felt her fur erect and her lips pull back from her teeth. "Yes, that's not against the rules, is it?"
*Oh great* Katie thought *She thinks I'm challenging her* "No, not at all." the husky hastily responded. "We think that's perfectly fine. We just want to be able to monitor you--there's a whole lot we don't know about anthro pregnancies."
Jackie thought for a second. She didn't want park management too involved, but she also knew that medical monitoring was a good idea for an ordinary human pregnancy, let alone the first panthermorph pregnancy ever.
"I'll have to talk to Keith about it, but it seems like a good idea." she replied. "But first I want a pregnancy test."

Naomi had decided to handle the does herself. This was a job for a female husky, and the only other female in the pack with enough experience was Katie, who already had a lot on her plate with monitoring Leticia and the panthermorph situation. Naomi approached the little clique of does at their favorite salt lick. She noted that Su Yin, Lateisha, and Jenny slightly pulled back, a common problem when huskies interacted with prey species. Fear of predators was one of the instincts carried over from animal to anthromorph forms. Hannah was nearly entirely desensitized to it due to her long experience with predators in the transgender support group, but the other does looked wary.
"Hello ladies, can I ask you about something?"
"Sure" Hannah replied.
Naomi went on to explain the situation with Spike. She knew that none of the does had liked him, and she was prepared to offer an extension on their stay or anything else within reason to get a doe to volunteer as Spike's mother.
The does were silent as Naomi finished. After a pause, one spoke up.
