Next morning Julie awaked with such a headache as if a mountain had fallen on her head. She was sure that the cheese from her supper must be rotten. But she had no choice and must begin her ride to Merlon if she wanted to arrive in the evening.
During the eventless ride through the quiet wood Julie thought about her strange dream. She couldn't explain what happened in it, only that there were two woman in it and a green cloud, but all details vague or had vanished. It must be another sideeffect of the cheese, thought Julie and concentrated more on the way.
In the evening Julie arrived the capitol city of Merlon, which was also called Merlon. She asked the gatekeeper for the way to the castle and went directly to it. It was typical medieval castle: A large tower in the middle of the stronghold with a wall and four smaller towers around it. Inside where also some smaller houses for the servants, the stables and the guards.
Julie alighted from the horse and entered the greatest tower. A soldier asked her for her intention and described her the way to the head counsellor. In the room of the head counsellor Julie met a small man, not older than thirty, with short black hair and a small beard.
"Now you demand a lot of things.", answered Yuri Mordecai, the head counsellor, after he listened to Julie's demands.
"It aren't peanunts, but consider what happened to Facile Victum.", said Julie, who had the impression that Mordecai was very arrogant.
"Yeah, but that was only a unprepared village full of farmer and fishermen. But we are great nation. Not only that we have a skillful army, we also have a group of the wisest magicians on our side. We have defeated much greater evil wizards than your 'dark lord Kenan'.
I think we can handle with him and his army. The conversation was finished." With this words Mordecai sent Julie out of the castle, not without giving the guards the order not allow Julie another trespassing into the fortress.
Julie was in thoughts when she walked through the empty streets of Merlon seraching for a tavern and leading her horse behind her. She considered who she should assassinate at first: the unknown royality, the head of the wizards, the general of the army or this arrogant bastard of Mordecai. She was such in rage about this incompetent idiot, that she didn't noticed that the lane was filled with a green smoke.
Suddenly she stood in front of small tavern, without knowing how she walked to it, and therewas this horrible headache again. Julie decided to sleep a bit and then she planned her first assassination. Now she knew who should be her first target.
