Once again, the LCD screen on the remote flashed on to say, "MindLink Change Complete/Reality Altered." She reached down and ran a hand over her legs -- wow, perfectly smooth, even though she hadn't shaved in a couple of days.
She looked at the amazing remote that she held. She thought it would be great if she didn't have to keep holding the remote, and if maybe there was a way so she wouldn't lose it, and to make sure no one would take it.
The display on the remote changed to read, "MindLink Change Progressing/Functions Transferring." Lili wondered what that meant for a second, but then she nearly jumped out of her skin as she heard a man's voice with a slight British accent, sounding as if it was coming from inside her head. Internal voice mode activated and transfer complete, said the voice. Chronivac functions are now fully controlled by mind of user Lilianne Miller.
Lili tested it out by setting the remote -- which now appeared as if it were turned off -- on her desk, and then looking at her fingernails and thinking about a manicure. Almost instantly, the nails started to grow. Within seconds, they were about three-quarters of an inch long, with perfectly shaped white tips, and the voice in her head said, Change complete. Reality altered. Lili snickered when she saw that she had long nails in the family portrait, and then she realized -- she now, basically, had magic powers!
