Celeste Baker ran a tight ship. She had a group of reliable girls that did very well for her and her fledgling company. She also had a superstar in Richie Tawny, who sold more they any pair of the ladies combined.
She looked across the table. Myra Estavez was going through some folders in front of her. She was a great salesperson, but always seemed a bit sad when she wasn’t in front of clients. Next to her sat Tanisha Washington, a cocky beauty, whose smile and wit gave the entire office a run for their money. Debra Turnow and Gina Tomashi entered and took their seats. The only slight disappointment was Marti, the young receptionist whose dark lipstick and black dyed hair framed an apathetic attitude that Celeste didn’t appreciate at all. But Celeste had a way of bringing out the best in people and she held high hopes for the young goth.
Yes, Celeste was proud of her little empire. Her brown and gray hair was kept neatly in a bun, that made her look even more intimidating in her navy suit.
Debra sighed as she looked at the other women. It was a really fun group to work with, except of course for Richard. She rolled her eyes as she realized the company king hadn’t arrived yet, no doubt waiting to make a grand entrance.
Almost as if on cue, the conference room door opened, but arrogant Richard was nowhere to be found. Instead, the very earnest and professional Richie walked in and took a seat. Gina and Debra shot each other a glance as they realized the website had actually worked.
