Ty suddenly woke up from the floor, realizing that it was all just a dream. He looked at himself, however, and realized that only part of it was a dream. He was definitely a vampire, as him feeling his sharp teeth and lack of reflection in the mirror proving that. He got up slowly, feeling very different. The air blowing on his clothes felt weird as despite his window being open, he didn't feel cold at all. He looked over to the radiator and noticed it was switched on full. He put his hands to it, but felt nothing. No intense waves of heat coming from it.
'Looks like i've got all the usual advantages and disadvantages. Low sense of touch, heightened sense of sound and sight. What about being impervious to damage though...'
Looking across the room, he saw a ballpoint pen laying out on his desk. Carefully, he took the pen and without hesitation, stabbed himself in the arm, with enough force to go through and through. Much to his happiness, he felt no pain, as if it was natural for this to happen to his body. He slid out the pen, now covered in blood, and as the tip left his arm, his arm sealed up, showing no signs of damage.
He heard the door open slowly and turned to see Dustin, still human as ever.
"Hey, Ty. I brought you your daily dosage..." Dustin said, holding a glass filled with a dark red liquid. DIdn't take much guesswork to know what it was.
"Um, thanks, Dustin." He said as he took the glass slowly and began to drink it. As he drank it, he realized how tasty it was, it tasted like nothing else he'd ever tasted. As he drank it up, he was licking the inside of the cup to get every last drop.
"Man, you always freak me out when you do that. Guess i'll never understand what i haven't lived with all my life."
"It's only natural, Dustin." Ty said putting the glass down.
"Yeah, and i guess having lived for nearly 70 years and still looking like a 15-year old is natural too, at least i will show a few signs of age when i grow up."
'So he doesn't remember what it was like. Guess i'm the only one who does...' "At least i'll live forever" "So will I, you idiot"
"Oh yeah, how?"
"Um, hello? Lycanthrope? Werewolf? Ring a bell?"
'Wow, i didn't realize!'
"Oh yeah, i forgot that."
"Anyway, are you going out tonight or staying in?" Dustin asked.
"Why do you care?"
"Because i want to have friends over tonight. They're not really fond of you, or any vampires for that matter, remember?"
"Oh yeah, i forgot. Sorry, i just woke up. Well, i'm gonna go out, but don't get into anything stupid."
"Don't worry, we won't. It's not a full moon tonight, geez."
Ty opened up his dresser to get some better clothes. He picked a long black jacket, black tight leather pants, and a black short sleeve t-shirt on top of a white long sleeve t-shirt (giving him 2 layers).
"Well, see ya!" And with that, Ty jumped out the window, landing on his feet three stories below. He began to walk down the street toward the park, where he felt most of the vampires hung out. He didn't know why, but he was starting to remember stuff about this world like it had always been this way.
As he entered the park, he climbed a nearby tree to get a look at his surroundings.
Nothing much had change, except he could tell that most of the people that were in the park were vampires.
Up ahead, one of them had long black hair and looked to be in his early twenties. He was waving for Ty to come forward, so Ty did as he was asked. As he came toward the man, he got a quick rush of energy and remembered about the man...
His name was Leon, and though he was 20 when he was turned (via ritual), his real age was about 10 years old.
And for a split second, he was in shock as he realized...
