You start to make your way back to the front door, but something is wrong. The corridors seem longer and more complex, like some sort of endless maze. It had been pretty hard to navigate to begin with, all of its hallways stretching out so far, but now... now it's like a completely different place. It isn't, it can't be - the decor is identical, the style hasn't changed, even some of the paintings hanging from the walls look like you'd seen them on your way in - but it is.
Desperate to leave this place, you make your way to a window. You pull the curtains aside, moving the latch and sliding the glass pane to the side. You can smell the fresh air outside, and you can see the trees stretching on into the forest ahead. This is it. Freedom. Without an ounce of hesitation, you climb through the window, but as you do you feel a strange disorientation, a sort of dizziness as the world seems to spin all around you, and then find yourself climbing in a window rather than out. Looking back over your shoulder, you see the hallway you had been trying to get out of from, but looking ahead what you see isn't the open wilderness that you'd sighted before. Instead, it's yet another corridor, one just as twisted and unnavigable as the last.
No matter how hard you look, no matter how far you go, you can't find the exit in this labyrinth. Even your best attempts at escape are subdued by outright impossibilities. Whatever it is that brought you here, it clearly doesn't want you to leave, and it apparently has the ability to keep you from going anywhere.
