The classroom door flew open, dislodging a couple of vines, and the principal John Norwood strode in, loudly demanding, "Ms. Chan, just what in the world is going on -- "
He stopped in mid-stride and in mid-sentence. Nothing could have prepared him for the fact that Room 114 now looked more like an enchanted forest than a classroom, and that Ms. Chan appeared to have grown a pair of wings, and had a teaching assistant who was dressed as a belly dancer.
And then some residual fairy magic went to work on him. His rotund body was becoming decidedly less so, although while his stomach was shrinking, his legs and the rest of his torso were becoming more and more muscular. His navy blue suit stretched and ripped and finally disintegrated into nothingness, revealing that he now possessed a pair of legs that weren't quite human. His shoes disappeared as well, showing that his feet had become goat-like cloven hooves. He winced as a pair of horns erupted from his skull, curving around until they resembled a ram's.
Jeanie started to smell his musk, the wonderful, enchanting scent of the satyr. It had been millennia since that arousing aroma had touched her nose. One part of her knew it was wrong, this was all an accident, and she needed to turn everything back -- but most of her wanted to give in to her natural urges. She would do anything for him.
Principal Norwood looked down at his new, hairy body in horror. "I wish the kids hadn't seen this!" he gasped.
A wish! Jeanie was so happy to be able to help. She made a gesture, and the students disappeared from their tuffets and toadstools.
"What happened to them?" asked the newly transformed satyr. He turned to Ms. Chan. "Rebecca, what the hell is going on here?"
Jeanie smiled at him and answered the question. "I'm a genie. One of the students brought me in for show and tell. I turned Ms. Chan -- Rebecca -- into a fairy and gave her a real magic wand. She accidentally used it, and this room got turned into what a fairy classroom would look like, basically."
"But where'd all the students go?
Jeanie explained, "You wished the kids hadn't seen your transformation, so I made today into a student holiday. None of them have been here all day."
"But that's impossible!" Ms. Chan finally spoke. "If the students hadn't been here today, you wouldn't be here."
"That's magic for you." Jeanie shrugged. "It just means I got here a different way, somehow."
Ms. Chan -- Rebecca -- shook her head. "This is just too weird for me...and what is that incredible smell?"
John stroked the thick beard that had grown out of his formerly clean-shaven face. "I think that's me."
Jeanie suddenly realized she might have competition for this satyr in the form of Rebecca.
