At the mention of "dinner", Jennifer and Brenda eagerly ran into the dining room where their dishes were set up. Jennifer being a larger breed than her sister naturally had larger portions.
She dropped down to all fours and began eating with gusto, as opposed to the reserved, cautious way Brenda ate.
"Oh, would you look at our little puppies?" Mom said to dad as they say down at the table with their human meals.
"They're hardly puppies anymore, dear," he answered, taking a bite of his stew. Idly, he scratched at his throat.
"I guess not," she sighed, shaking her head. She didn't notice, but her ears had become larger, if only slightly so. She began to fidget on her seat uncomfortably.
"What's wrong?" her husband asked, his scratching roving now to his back.
"Feels like I'm sitting on something..." she answered.
