With no one else to save him, you rush to Steve's rescue, leaping from your hiding place and making a mad dash for the men carrying the barrel. You tackle one to the ground, and the other, trying to grab the barrel before it falls to the ground, is pulled by its weight and plummets to the forest floor, landing in a thick puddle of the multicolored latex. The cultist you'd tackled, along with most of the others, runs off as soon as he spots the spilled barrel, and the poor bastard who'd landed in its contents tries to crawl away from the latex, but it quickly snaps to life and engulfs him, leaving his struggling form visible beneath its surface.
"YOU FOOL!" the leader screams with a fury unmatched by any you've ever heard. "HAVE YOU ANY IDEA WHAT YOU'VE DONE?!?"
You shake your head.
"The enchantments on that barrel were the only things keeping the powers held within that liquid under our sway! Now that they've spilled out, there's no telling what might happen! Don't you have any idea how dangerous unbound magic is?!?"
