They knew their job. While one was downstairs cutting off the power with a wand that matched the one Dr. Mezzner sometimes used, while the other was upstairs preparing. The moment the power was out, he pressed a button on a device he had pulled from his inner jacket pocket.
Knowing he had only a couple of minutes, the member of Zulo moved quickly into the room. He easily saw the figures frozen in place, reached over and removed the amulet from the one called Alice.
Pressing another button on the device, he watched as the world swirled around him, disappeared and reformed. He now stood outside, roughly two blocks away. A second later, his partner appeared. Looking at him, he asked of him, "Has power been properly restored?"
Nodding, the other man withdrew a similar device and asked to see the Amulet of Zulo. Pointing the device at the medallion, an electric blue glow emitted from it and surrounded the amulet. After awhile the glow simply faded. Handing the necklace back to his partner asked, "Why do you think it keeps winding up in their hands?"
Shrugging, his partner took back the amulet and simply said, "The will of Zulo is not ours to question."
With that said, he pulled a wand like aperture out and tossing the amulet into the air, pointed it at the medallion. With a echoing "Pop' the amulet disappeared. The two looked at each other and then pulling devices out of their jackets, simultaneously pressed a button. They, of course, were returning to wherever they had originated from to wait for the next person to come in contact with the Amulet of Zulo.

His name was Keith. By all definitions he was a geek. He was seventeen years old, a straight A student, a fan of D&D and knew every episode of all the Sci-Fi shows since the nineteen sixties.
Walking home from school, he meditated on his family. Keith's father was a mean abusive drunk, who took most of his anger out on either on his wife or on his son. He was the kind of man who like watching sports, hunting, fishing and trying to force his sniveling worm of an offspring to do what he thought was appropriate. Stuff which his son really held no interest in and wanted nothing to do with.
Sighing heavily, Keith's thoughts turned to his mother. His mom could be described in one word; alcoholic. When she wasn't drinking, she was excepting the beatings her husband gave her. Otherwise, she was sitting at the casino and pissing away her son's college fund and her husbands paychecks.
Wishing he had at least one friend, Keith sighed again as a cold may wind blew through his thin jacket and continued walking home from high school. He hated the fact he had been born into a world that didn't understand him complete with a family that didn't love him.
"I wish there was way for me to change my life," Keith thought miserably.
Suddenly something fell from a tree and smacked him in the head. Swearing loudly Keith looked down at the object that had collided with his head and gasped. He recognized it immediately as being the Amulet of Zulo.
"If this is really what I think it is," Keith breathed excitedly, "This Medallion will allow me to change into someone else. Heck, I could even get away from my family. But do I want to become older of younger?"
Pondering over the question, he looked up and saw the last person he wanted to see; Jimmy, the high school bully. Gasping, he looked about and ducked down an alley just as a voice called out, "Hey, wait up sissy girl. You owe me money and for that, I just take out the interest in a beating."
Hearing Jimmy give chase, Keith tried to run faster, but was completely out of breath halfway down the ally.
Panting, he looked about and he saw the open loading door of a Super-Save Department store. Quickly entering, Keith stuffed the Amulet of Zulo into his pocket and hoping he wasn't breaking any laws he made his way out of the back room and into the main store. Seeing that Jimmy hadn't followed him, he tried to breathe a sigh of relief and wound up gasping for air instead.
When he had his breath back, he was just looking up when he saw his old babysitter, Miss. Punnit. Waving Keith thought to himself, "What should I use to transform myself," and began moving toward the clothes section of the store.
