You stare in disbelief at your bestial arm. You flex your fingers and see the three thick digits respond. The sound of two sets of hooves breaks your stupor.
You turn around to see two minotaurs standing behind you. One of them looks exhausted and you realize that it was an agonized human a few minutes ago. The other creature makes a move toward you.
Without thinking you start running away from the pair. Your fear gives you new speed and endurance. Taking random paths in the maze you soon put the minotaurs far behind you, at the cost of becoming completely lost.
Your adrenaline rush fades and leaves you on your knees gasping for breath. You look at your altered arm and fresh panic hits you. Thick, brown fur now extends to your shoulder, and your arm has gained new muscle mass.
Your panting has brought another thing to your notice, you're snorting! You bring your human arm to feel your face and find that your nostrils feel wide and animalistic. You also find that the stubble has become a full beard growing up your face and down your neck. Two small buds also protrude from your forehead.
"This can't be happening," is all you can think in response to this situation. A sudden tightness in your chest makes you take notice to the surrounding maze walls.
In your blind fear to escape the two minotaurs you have blundered near a wall of those accursed flowers. Each of the blooms is as large as a dinner-plate, and each of the red blossoms is emitting a stream of pollen. Pollen that you've been rapidly inhaling.
You try to run again, but your legs feel sluggish. All you can do is roll over onto your back and stare at the vault of vines forming an arch over the maze, covered in yet more flowers.
Your body starts spasming wildly. To your surprise, it's not painful, but your body is numb so you can't really tell. You can't feel much, but can still see, and what you see fills you with dread. Two white horns intrude into your field of vision, and you know that they are attached to your skull.
You soon regain control of your body and stand up. Even before you see the hooves or your new bullhood hanging thick from your groin, or even feel your new horns or bovine muzzle and ears, you know that you have joined the minotaurs of this maze.
