A real truth was just realized by Simon, he was a horse and a mare. "Why he wondered did he become a horse and for what possible reason was he a mare?"
As the stallion sniffed and then licked at his most female part Simon began to shake with fear. As the big stallion mounted him he expected what he had witnessed when Jonus the male mule mounted a jenny.
As the big horse stood ready to thrust deep into his newest conquest he leaned forward to get more leverage as he entered. Jenny who was the human now stallion was almost never in control of her animal body. Yet as she leaned forward the chain of her medallion came into view.
The medallion still around Simon's neck and the chain embedded in the hair of her mane suggested to Jenny that this mare was Simon. In a second her dearest wish was possible and her mental strength increased. Stepping off the mare she approached her friend. Looking for any sign of recognition she thought and then as slow and careful as she could scraped J e N N Y is the dust of the corral.
Simon watched and was wild with sudden relief he had found Jenny. Like her he also scraped a hoof in the dust and wrote S I MM O N.
Whinning and nickkering went on for several minutes as both had found a friend in the equine animal kingdom. Jenny wrote several questions in long scratchings along the corral. As the night went on both had a story to tell the other.
As the sun began to rise Simon had and idea. Walking around the corral his hoofs wiped out most of the writing. Then at the far end he began to write his thoughts. I W I S H F O R J e NN Y A N D

Simon clomped both his hoofs down at the end of his written marks in hope this would be a period. Simon felt a hum from the medallion and it began to glow. As the blue stone began to shine like a sun both Jenny and Simon felt a strong personal will come over their equine minds.
As the medallion cooled down Simon turned around and thought "I glad we figured this all out!" Jenny stood with the whites of her horse eyes showing, surprised since the wors Simon thought came out of his mouth as words.
"Hey I can talk, yelled a much surprised Simon!"
Jenny thought to herself "I wish I could talk too!" Surprise again she now could her her male animal voice speak a fine King's English.
Two horses now talked till both had to stop and get a drink from the make-shift water trough.
Water still dripping from her mouth Jenny asked, "Do we speak and tell the others who we are or were?"
Simon shook his head, " Imagine what Wilma and some of the others would say if they discovered we were animals and each a different sex than what we were born! I might tell the Professor but never any of the other students, no way!"
Jenny stood thinking as she felt another big slurp of a warm wet tongue on her sheath. "Oh I being called for servicing again! I had looked at Jonus as he mounted one of the jennies' and thought it looked like he had fun but this is work!" Jenny tried to fight the urge but finally gave in and began her ritual of stallion and mate.
Simon watched with a personal interest since he would in time come into heat and long for some sexual relief. As he watched he got so close the jennie mule gave a kick at him with her hind leg.
"Better back off stupid before she connects and you get a headache, said Jenny as she thrusted away."
Simon turned around as noise from the camp became most loud. Now he too was missing and they planned search parties.
