You hope this isn't a dream, and if it's some sort fo test you want to make sure you pass. You find some clean clothes and get dressed quickly, not wasting time on a shower. As a kid, you can get away with not bathing as often. You bound down the stairs two at a time, feeling incredible. Your 'mom' has a nice breakfast of bacon and eggs already set out for you. "Thanks, uh, mom!" You wolf down the food, anxious to get outside and start the grass.
You don't recognize anything about your house or the street - this may even be a different state. But you find that you 'know' where the lawn mower is, and are quickly at work doing the best job you can. You love being a kid! Even doing the yard is great - you doubletime, practically running with the mower, and finish up quickly. Then you edge and sweep before going back in for a cold glass of lemonade. Your mom looks out. "Good grief, Ian! Are you bucking for a raise in your allowance?"
"Just wanted to do it right." Then you grin. "But if I can get a bigger allowance...?"
She chuckles and pulls a $10 bill out of her wallet. "Here. Go down to the Mall and catch that movie you wanted to see. Just be back by dinner time."
"Thanks, mom!" You take the money and hop on your bike, which you have no trouble freeing from the combination lock and chain. The mall is large and new, with one of those multiplex theaters. What movie would Ian want to see? You look at the marquee.
Indiana Jones looks good. Would Spongepants Bob be too silly for you? There's a special showing of Spiderwyck Chronicles, and one for Care Bears in Happy land. Why are you even looking at that?
