On the way home, you can't shake the feeling that the transforming chimpanzee seemed familiar somehow. Like he was turning into someone he knew, or used to know.
About halfway home, you begin to feel an ache in your feet. Looking down, you see that your trainers are bulging at the front and sides. Alarmed, you run the rest of the way, wincing with the pain. You also notice you have a harder time keeping your balance than usual; you really have to focus.
As soon as you reach your frat house, you run upstairs to your room and shut the door behind you. Luckily, your roommate isn't home yet.
You pull off your now extremely tight shoes and peel off your socks. At first glance, your feet look normal. They're still an impressive size 14, muscular and manly. On closer inspection, however, your toes are quite a lot longer than they used to be, and the gap between your big toe and the others is bigger than usual. As you wiggle your toes in the cool air, it almost seems as if they're getting even longer, and the gap even larger.
You realize that other things may have changed, too. You go over to the mirror, and see that while your face hasn't changed, your hair is a little thicker and unrulier, and your sideburns have begun to creep down the side of your face.
You hear a key in the door. "Crap," you say. Your roommate, Darren, can't see your feet like this. He'll freak out. Quickly, but with some difficulty, you pull on your socks. Darren walks in, and noticing your struggle with your socks, says, "Dude, what's wrong with your feet? They look really wide or something."
"Uh..."
