As Kat was about to cast a spell on Dan, she stopped. Why should she waste her magic on the brother she hated, when she could use it on their other brother Patrick. Yes, Patrick would love the chance to be something else. Like all kids his age, he dressed up and pretended to be someone else. She smiled as she walked away from a confused Dan and headed down stairs to Patrick's room. Kat tapped on the door and was greeted by her five year old brother, Patrick. "Hi there buddy." She smiled as he greeted her with a hug. "Hiya Kat. "He said with a toothy grin as she ruffled his hair. "Can I come in?" She asked as she bent down to his eye level. "You bet!" He told his sister as he led her into his room. Kat smiled as she sat down on his fighter jet bed with Pokemon sheets and a stuffed Mew and Pikachu at the head. "Happy birthday Kat, I got you a present." He told her as he handed a small box. "Mom helped me pick it out, she said you'd really need it." He said as he handed Kat the box. Thank' s little guy." Kat told him as she kissed his forehead. Patrick blushed as He rubbed where his sister kissed him.
Kat giggled as she opened the box, it was a beautifully crafted necklace of a pentagram. Kat knew it was a charm witches used to help them channel and strengthen their magic. "Aw Patrick, it's beautiful thank you." She hugged him and lifted him up into arms and rested him on her lap. "I got something to tell you Pat." She told him as she ran her hands though his short hair. "I'm a witch, and so is every female on mom's side of the family." She said without any hint of humor.
Patrick looked at her for a second, then started to laugh. "No your not, Witches are mean and ugly, your nice and pretty." He said, which now made his sister blush. "OK kiddo, what do I have to do to convince you?" She asked her brother with a sly smile as Patrick thought about it.
