Steve tried to move his left toe. He could feel it move, see it move... but what moved was the toe attached to a too-small foot, that was part of the lower body of a woman that had replaced his own all the way up to his waist. And while he could feel his toes, and most of his body, some of the sensations were strange, particularly at his waist and crotch and deeper inside where his new female organs were.
"This is impossible!" he thought. "There's no way anyone could do anything like this. I must be hallucinating. We don't have the technology to attach a new lower body and make it function. I've never even heard of anyone transplanting a leg and making it work, let alone a whole lower body with organs and hips and skin and vagina and nerves and everything else." But it was. He could move his toes, and even his legs, and feel sensations all the way down his body, even a slight breeze from the air vents in the room that could be felt between his legs on his unfamiliar equipment.
There were strange sounds... maybe footsteps. Could it be some kind of machine or could it really be an alien abduction? Then he saw someone in the ceiling mirror approaching him from behind. It was a person in a white coat and he said "Are you awake?"
"Yes, I'm awake!" he tried to yell, but his mouth was covered.
The man said "Before you say anything, no, we didn't do this." Then he pulled the respirator off. It was just a mask.
"Where am I?" he yelled. "If you didn't do this, who did? How did they do it anyway? There's no such thing, it can't be done!"
"We believe you were being taken to an alien zoo. That's alien as in space alien. They can modify people... we found you frozen in their ship, already modified. We haven't quite figured out how, but it must have caused you considerable pain. We think you should be okay after a few days rest, but we don't know how to change you back."
"So do you zap me with some ray and make me forget everything?"
"Oh, come on. First of all, it's pretty obvious you changed. Second, this isn't Men in Black. And third..."
"Third?" replied Steven.
"It's news. Big news. Nobody's ever managed to capture an alien ship before. It's plastered all over the headlines. We couldn't cover it up."
"You mean everyone knows that I'm not myself?"
"Everyone who reads the news."
"So what's my condition?"
"Every test on the lower half of your body shows a perfectly normal, functioning, woman's body. There's nothing wrong with you, except that you weren't like that before."
