Marcia Caldwell, a 24 year old paranormal investigator sits in her office with a sobbing mother. “When did she disappear again, Mrs. McGovern?” Marcia asks, passing her a box of tissues. “It was almost a month ago,” Mrs. McGovern stammers, taking the box and wiping her eyes, “the police say they have an ‘on going investigation.’” Marcia nods, “Yes, I’ve heard of these disappearances before. Usually it’s teenage boys, but more and more lately, teenage girls as well.”
Mrs. McGovern reaches into her purse and hands Marcia a slip of paper, “I found this under her mattress, I hadn’t had the courage to go into her room until recently.” Marcia unfolds the paper, but it’s what she expected, a big colorful flyer for Pleasure Island. “You know Mrs. McGovern, missing children are a matter for the police,” Marcia slides the paper back to her. “Please,” Mrs. McGovern pleads, “the police aren’t doing anything about it. I just want to know what happened to her.”
Marcia sighs and sits back in her chair. “Okay, I’ll see what I can do. I’m going to make a copy of this flyer for myself, and I want you to take the original to the police. I don’t want to be caught withholding evidence,” Marcia walks over to a small computer scanner and places the flyer inside.
“Tell me about your daughter, Mrs. McGovern…”
