‘I killed someone, I should feel sick, awful, why don’t I? Why am I so casual about it? Even
if they weren’t Magni they were still people.’ You think, finally having time to think and not
endlessly look over your shoulder in fear. ‘Was I that angry over Red Lion’s death? And
shouldn’t I feel bad about the other human beings killed from Steve’s group? Then why
don’t I? Maybe, maybe it was just the heat of the battle, yes that’s it. It’s not like you don’t
-care- for others just because of a little species change.’ You do your best to convince
yourself.
Pink Skunk’s slugs do their thing, covering the walls of the super sticky substance needed.
Knowing it good to make sure to please a CEO, you make sure they apply the Lumocus in
the pattern T-Rex commanded that you do.
‘Where the people who attacked us weekend warriors? Or where they military? No, if they
were military there would be more of them.’ You look at Steve and know, ‘We won’t be
able to keep him unconscious for the full day and what not it’ll take one of the females to
release their birthing egg, we need to do something about that.’
You order one of the snails to do their thing and they slowly but surely create the holding
membrane around Steve’s cell. Just to be sure, you search him carefully and thoroughly to
make sure he’s not armed with anything else. You also take his cell phone and turn it off.
The elder Magni holding the humans back at the original nest wouldn’t have seen a cell
phone before, you wonder if any of the humans managed to get a call off.
Steve wakes up an hour or two later. He wakes up looks around, and curses himself, you
took any shape blades he might have used to cut his wrists. He begins to endlessly run
into the membrane, not caring that it never gives. You try to say a few words to Steve to
calm him down, but to your shock you realize that he can’t understand you. All he hears
are animal noises. You hold you paw up your mouth in dismay. This was awful. ‘Well,’ You
think grimly. ‘For any humans that we might need to speak to later... I’ll just have to teach
my rubber vocal cords to speak all over again!’
You next down next to Yellow Fox’s head, he is in so much pain. His body is regenerating,
but slowly, too slowly for your taste. You speak kind things to him as best you can. You
know you should likely be mating along with Pink Skunk, since you’ll need all the birthing
eggs you can get your hands on, but kindness overrules common sense.
Finally the next morning before noon Blue Lioness returns from the first nest, “There
hasn’t been an attack, and I’ve informed the others what happened, if there are other
humans, they didn’t follow me back to the first nest.”
You are all relieved to hear that. Finally, White Bat informs you that her time is now.
