I smelled Cassidy's perfume more intensely as she made her way across the lobby. Her smell, the voices intensifying in the lobby, and the increasing fear of being discovered made it harder for me to think clearly. The wolf inside me desperately urged me to fight or flee.
It hurt to hold off the change, and I looked down at the stubble visibly appearing on my legs to see that I wasn't doing a great job. I had to run, but to it in a way that Cassidy wouldn't follow me. I had to take a big gamble. Opening the door almost caused me to double over from the exposure to the full moon night. I heard Cassidy's "Wait up!" as I purposefully dropped my bag while grabbing my cellphone.
To afraid to open my fanged mouth, I pointed urgently to the cellphone pressed against the point of my ear and began to speed walk into the library courtyard as fast as I could. I could feel tears of pain of arousal form as, even as I gained space between myself and my friend, every part of my body cried for the change.
