To Jennifer's relief, Valerie took her and her clothes and headed toward the laundry room. She opened the clothes hamper, tossed Jennifer and all her clothing in rather carelessly, and left to get prepared for work.
"Well... this is better than the alternative, I guess," thought Jennifer, "but not much." Inside the hamper was pitch dark, and Jenny could feel herself smothered on all sides by dirty clothes. She was glad she no longer had a sense of smell, because she was sure it would make the experience that much more unpleasant.
Inside the hamper Jenny completely lost all track of time. Four long, boring, quiet hours passed. With Valerie gone to work, Jenny was sure the house really was totally empty. "Good thing, too," she told herself. "I really don't want anybody around to see me turn back. This is so embarrassing..."
Suddenly, Jenny felt herself changing again. Her silk body returned to human flesh and bone. Within an instant, she burst out of the clothes hamper totally naked, sending dirty laundry everywhere.
"Oh!" she exclaimed. "I'm back to normal! Finally! That was the longest five hours of my life." She stepped out of the hamper, double checking to make absolutely sure no one was around to see her, and then shut the door and began rooting through the hamper to get her clothing.
When she was finally dressed, she grabbed her backpack and car keys and headed out the door. She glanced at the clock in her car. "1:30. Damn, I'm so late for school..." She had already missed most of the day; by now, she was sure 6th period was about halfway over. Nevertheless, she wasn't going to skip out on the rest of the day. At the very least, she had to find Kyle, and get him to change his mind. She couldn't go through life changing everytime someone wanted her to.
When she finally got to school, though, her hopes of reasoning with Kyle quickly faded. As she walked toward her locker, she could see a fluorescent green sheet of paper had been attached to it with scotch tape.
"What's that?" she asked. Getting up closer to it, she felt her stomach turn.
There, printed in all caps on the piece of paper, it said: FOR YEARS JENNY SMITH HAS TREATED YOU LIKE CRAP. NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO GET EVEN. NOW YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE HER INTO ANYTHING YOU LIKE FOR FIVE HOURS. JUST COMMAND HER, AND IT WILL BE SO!
There was more in smaller print, explaining all the specifics of how Jenny's curse worked, but she didn't read it. She already knew what this meant. She looked down the hall, and at the nearest trash can. Her worst fears were confirmed; dozens of pieces of the same fluorescent green paper littered the area. This was all Kyle's doing-- he must have used those five hours while Jenny was a pair of panties to start spreading flyers around. And she knew how things worked at East Hampton; news like this had a way of spreading very fast. With as many people as there were who disliked her...
"Dear lord," Jenny gulped. "I am so screwed..."
