Later the same day the team lies down and rests while some of the younger dogs play in the snow. Bryan and Amber lie next to each other and Iiumni tries to be as close to Amber and Bryan as possible as they seem to be his only allies. Keula and his closes dogs constantly keep an eye on the three dogs. But as the wind changes direction everyone in the team stops their activities and sniff the air. The wind has brought the smell of something distant. “What is that smell?” Bryan asks as he sits up and sniffs the air. “…There is one male human and one dog… a bitch…” Keula quickly stands up as he recognises the smell. Just like the rest of the team. He begins to wag his tail in quick wags. “It’s our musher!” He howls out and becomes very excited and as Keula gets excited, the rest of the team starts barking and howling too. Bryan and Amber don’t really know what all the fuss is about. But Iiumni looks to have a hard time not to join the team in the excitement. The exhilaration of the team reaches its climax when a fairly tall man with a thick brown beard and who is dress in artic clothing walks into the team camp. In his hand he holds a leash which is attached to the collar that belongs to a Siberian husky bitch that is completely white. Keula immediately rushes forward towards the human and jump up on him to reach up to lick his face. The rest of the team gathers in a circle around the man.
“I’ve have missed you too, Keula” The man says cheerfully and begin to rub Keulas back. His tongue hangs out of his mouth and he pants loudly. He’s not just showing happiness to the man but he also shows total submission to him and this disgusts Amber. She begins to think that maybe Keula isn’t such a strong leader if he shows such strong submission to such a weak creature as a human. Amber and Bryan try to keep their distance from the human, but Iiumni have begun to walk a bit closer. He doesn’t want to get too close to Keula, but he’s sure is curious about the new husky bitch.
As the commotion calms down a bit the musher squats and puts his arm around the new husky. “Ok everybody, this is Becky. She’s your new team member. Now you have to bee nice to her and teach her everything you know” All of the team’s eyes focus on the white husky. The whole team can see that she’s nervous and everyone can smell that she’s afraid. Her tail is tucked between her legs and she looks up at the musher’s face and whines. “There, there you will get used to it, they are your family now, Becky. Everything will be okay, I will even get you something to help you fit in” He slowly stands up and turn his back against the team and walks away to the team sled, but as he reaches the sled he looks back and suddenly notices Amber and Bryan. He looks at Keula. “Why didn’t you tell me that you have gotten two new team members, Keula?” He says with a big smile. He walks to Bryan and Amber and kneels in front of them and read their name tags. “Bryan and Amber… Well you really are two nice looking dogs, I’m proud that Keula have been able to recruit you to the team. Especially you Amber, some pups from you would really be a great addition to the team” He leans towards Bryan and lowers his voice a bit. “Maybe you already have taken care of that, Bryan?” He takes off one of he’s gloves, which have some strange markings on them, and then he reaches out his hand to Bryan. Bryan sniffs his hand and then he licks it couple of times. He then offers his hand to Amber, and she just ignores it.
The musher looks a bit disappointed and puts on the glove again. “Its ok girl, I understand that you don’t trust me. But you will learn to do it in time” He gets up and walk to the sled again and begins to search for something. After about a minute he has found the thing he was searching for: a harness. He grabs the harness and begins to walk back to Becky. Strangely enough he doesn’t seem to be affected by the harness’s power. “Ok, here we go Becky. Now don’t move” Becky look at the musher with a worried look on her face and she licks her nose several times, but she obeys. When the musher has begins to strap the harness onto her she begins to get calmer and less nervous. While the Becky’s harness gets strapped on Keula quietly walks to Iiumni. At first Iiumni looks scared. “Don’t worry Iiumni, I won’t bite…” Keula says to calm him down. It seems to work, Iiumni calms down a bit. “What do you want, Keula?” Iiumni says suspiciously. “I’ve got a proposal for you, Iiumni. If you stop interfering with my leadership and not try to stop her from joining the team properly, like you tried to do to Bryan and Amber. Then I can make her your personal bitch and make the team mates accept you agian…” Iiumni looks at Becky trying to decide what to do and then he decides to…
