"I think Alan is right Dale, we should go see this mysterious professor." Mitch looked at his friends. Alan panted happily at his suggestion being accepted, but Dale seemed hesitant.
"But why?"
"Well if Dr. C is no one we've ever met in our universe, then we'll know for sure that we're not in our reality anymore. It's a lot safer than visiting the demon, and a lot shorter than visiting town or turning the library inside out."
Dale nodded slowly. "Okay, but if Dr. C IS someone we know then we'll have to try one of the other three options."
"Fine." said Mitch.
"Let's go!" said Alan, bouncing out of the room.
The three went down the hallways as normally as they could, trying hard not to stare at the strange way the school had transformed and thinking of creative ways to hide the scent of surprise and curiosity they felt towards their other students. The easiest way they found to deal with it was to explain that they were looking for Dr. C. Most of their fellow students nodded and admitted that it was very hard to find that particular professor outside of class. The three searched all across campus. They finally narrowed it down to the Transfirguation building.
"We should've gone here first," said Dale.
Mitch shook his head "It just figures."
Alan looked at his two friends. "So wher do we start?"
"Given our luck so far if we start at the top the office will be in the basement and if we start in the basement it'll be at the top." Mitch stated.
"We could split up." suggested Dale.
"But then we'd have to find each other again. No It's better if we just look together."
After another couple minutes of debate they decided to start at the top and work their way down. And after searching every other floor the room was located along with some other offices in the subbasement of the building. Except for the gold letters next to the door, it wasn't particularly remarkable.
"Here goes nothing." said Mitch, opening the door.
The office had a pleasent interior with plush green carpet and paintings of the outdoors. A wooden desk was opposite them, its occupant facing away.
The three looked at each other for a minute, then Mitch went forward. "Escuse me, Dr. C. My name is Mitch and my friends and I have some questions for you."
The occupant of the chair responded by turning around. It was then that the three found out who Dr. C really was!
