Conrad wanted to scream for Jake to stop this madness but a torrent of instinct threatened his human will, trying to drive it out.
"Jake, this -- this isn't right. We need to stop," Conrad said.
Conrad realized that he was telling himself that as much as he was telling Jake that.
"Just a little bit more Conrad then we can be mates for real," Jake said.
Then Conrad heard someone approaching. He looked up to see his mother running toward him.
"Sweet Jesus, what the hell is..."
"You can join us too," Jake said. "Just let me finish with Conrad."
"Please help me," Conrad said.
Conrad's mother looked at him with shock in her eyes. "Who are you, what's going on?"
"Mom, it's me, Conrad! Please help!"
Conrad's mother ran over and grabbed Jake by the tail in an attempt to drag her off Conrad.
"No, I have to finish fixing him," Jake said.
"Who -- what are you?" Conrad's mother asked.
"Mom, it's Jake. Something turned him into a kangaroo girl and he wants to change me into a kangaroo too," Conrad said.
Jake struggled and kicked her legs in an attempt to get Conrad's mother off of him. Unfortunately, Jake managed to connect, sending Conrad's mother flying back.
"No," Conrad screamed.
Jake, now determined more then ever, used her sharp claws to tear Conrad's shirt from him.
"Jake, no, please end this," Conrad cried.
The instinct to spread her form unfortunately had gripped Jake's mind. She was no more able to resist the instinct then any animal could.
Conrad felt the same instinct as he started wondering if Jake was right, that he was infected and needed a cure.
Fur began a march over Conrad's chest as Jake started licking it. Conrad couldn't resist it anymore. Any desire to remain human vanished as the last vestige of his humanity vanished.
Conrad's mother managed to get up and made a charge toward Jake as she clutched her chest.
"Jake, I don't know what's happened to you but I won't let you do this," she said.
"He's fine now," Jake said.
Jake turned to see Conrad's mother approaching, jumped off of Conrad and pounced Conrad's mother to the ground. Conrad's mother tried to hold Jake's arms but it was a losing battle.
"He's fine now, I've cured him of his humanity," Jake said. "Now, I can fix you."
"Jake, please, we need to get to the hospital or something," Conrad's mother said. "This is madness!"
Jake first pulled Conrad's mother's shirt up and licked her where Jake had kicked her. Almost immediately, the injuries and pain associated with them vanished.
"Sorry for kicking you, but I had to finish with Conrad," Jake said. "Now, to cure you!"
