"Well, how about this? How about we take you to a dimension where there are others like you?" Gandrocont said to the frightened Mary.
"I-I don't know... Can't you... Can't you just change me back into a human?" She pleaded
"Sorry, there is nothing we can do to make you human, once the vial is in your system, you can't get it out." Grandrocont explained.
Mary heard the sounds of a crowd gathering around outside her house. They must have figured a hedgehog girl is more interesting than a car accident. There were murmurs that she was a monster. Mary looked at her furry arms and the quills on her back and she was starting to agree with them.
"Fine!" Mary shouted, "Take me to another dimension! I don't fit in here anymore!"
"Alright, just drink this vial and we will be on our way." He said, handing her a vial. "If you don't drink it, you won't be able to fit in, entirely, in the other dimension either."
She pulled off the cork and took a swig. Almost instantly, she was starting to feel the effects of the potion. Gandrocont helps out and steadies the staggering non-human girl to ease her through the portal he made appear with his hand. "Right this way, Miss."
Mary steps through the portal and everything goes yellow for a moment, then white then black.
She opens her eyes and finds that she is outside, laying on a field of grass. It's not only that, but the grass has a weird pattern to it. She looks around her. Everything is different, the colors are brighter than normal. The sky is vibrant blue and the grass is check-boarded with a light green and dark green pattern. There are trees, but the look like they are a little too straight and ridged to be natural.
Mary quickly remembers that she drank another vial and must have changed again. She looks over herself. She is still a hedgehog, but slightly different. She looks... almost cartoony. Her hands are now in white gloves and her many quills have been condensed into a few larger one. Her arms and legs are thinner than normal, but they don't feel any weaker. To top it all off she is now an unnatural shade of purple and wearing a green shirt and black pants with Green and White shoes.
Mary slumps against the ground and thinks about how she was suddenly flung into this life, "What did I get myself into?"
Out of the corner of her eye, Mary can see something approaching her.
