You quickly come to the end of the branch. Instinct kicks in and you cling onto the branch with your front paws to keep from falling as your body whips over the end of the branch. You dangle there a moment by your front paws, bobbing up and down with your heart racing as you look at how far down it is to the ground. When did you get so high up? There's no way you'd survive that drop. It looks to you like you're 50...maybe 75 feet up. Why is the zoo wall so tall here? You pull yourself back up on the branch with ease and agility. When did you gain so much forelimb strength?
You suddenly realize as you look at yourself that you've lost your clothes and shoes somewhere and you're completely fur covered. Feeling your head with your paws, you realize it's completely squirrel-shaped. Then it occurs to you that you have a greater range of peripheral vision. You chatter your teeth and flick your tail at the realization. The wall, tree, and branch aren't larger. That acorn you passed on as you dashed down this branch wasn't the size of a watermelon. They are all normal size. It's you who have changed! You've gone beyond being a near-human size anthro-squirrel. You have become a normal tree squirrel in size, shape, and form.
You realize that squirrel instincts are starting to win over as your stomach growls. That acorn you passed up is calling to you to be eaten. Give in! No more human worries! Freedom!
Again, you chatter your teeth and lash your tail about, trying to fight the panic that is quickly rising within you.
"I don't want to be a squirrel!" you try to cry out. Your eyes bulge as all you hear is panicky chatter and squeaks from your lips.
