Marcia Caldwell: Paranormal Private Investigator

The Curse of Atwell Mansion - Rusty's Help

added by Wolfy 14 years ago O

As Rusty saw Ben and David walk into the room, he smiled inwardly, seeing that these two were just like him once.

When the two were close to him, Rusty just nodded, saying hello without words.

"Hello sir, you must be Rusty? I am David and this is Ben, the new guy... so to speak."

David's voice was definitely deeper than Rusty had expected for his appearance, but it wasn't extremely deep like some of the other guys he had met through his life. Wanting to hear Ben speak, Rusty took his hand and shook it.

"Hello Ben! How are you?"

"Oh, hello Rusty sir. I am fine and thank you for asking. More importantly, how are you doing? Christine informed David here, who informed me of your rough condition."

With the two close to Rusty, he was able to see everything about them better. Ben, mildly athletic looking had a nice light tan, just to add to his already perfect looking features. David, on the other hand was skinny and seemingly underdeveloped with a slight tan that you had to be close to him to even see. Rusty knew that these two would be perfect additions to his soon to be wolfish nature. As the two walked toward Rusty, closing the door behind them, Rusty noticed something else. Ben, who closely resembled Rusty physically, was comfortable and confident with each stride and step. Ben was wearing a light red, two button, polo shirt with just the bottom button buttoned. Ben also wore a pair of Khaki shorts and flip-flops which made Rusty chuckle to himself over. David, on the other hand wore a light blue two button polo shirt with both buttons buttoned. David was also wearing long Khaki slacks and a pair of stuffy brown dress shoes.

Rusty liked the two that were before him now, especially since Ben had a low voice like David, though it was nothing out of the ordinary for a man.

"I am doing just fine and thank you for your concern. So... what time is it and when do you think the moon will be out so we can actually see this 'portal'?"

"I am glad to hear that sir. First, what would you prefer David and I to call you by?"

"You can call me Rusty and thank you for you allowing us the skipping of the formalities. I really do dislike being called sir as it makes me feel older than I already am."

"You are welcome Rusty. Well... to answer your question, the time is six o'clock in the evening and I would say that the moon should show itself in a half hour since the sun is well past being set. You know, daylight savings time and all right now, the days get dark around five or so."

"Yeah, I forgot about how quickly the days go by here." The thing was, Rusty knew that Ben was telling the truth because he could feel the energy from the portal peaking, as if it was getting ready to show itself. Rusty then continued. "So, where do you two think we should go to start hunting for the portal, that way we can get the most time to get rid of the thing?"

As soon as Rusty stopped speaking he felt the energy of the portal peak higher than it had since he had been near the portal. He knew that it was close to showing, but he was not aware of just how close it was.
