You stare out the windows in the back of the police car, trying to see anything which looks familiar, but the city outside just looks like a city to you. Whatever Red did to your memories, it apparently took away your knowledge of your way around town. Eventually the car enters some suburbs and pulls up to a rather nondescript house-- green with white trim and an average sized lawn. Any more details are lost in the darkness.
The officer walks with you up to the front door and rings the bell.
A black haired woman, who might be about your former age-- its kind of hard to tell from your new perspective-- answers the door. She is wearing tight fitting jeans and a green t-shirt, and has quite a shapely body. Intellectually, you know you should find her really attractive, but your nine year body couldn't care less.
"Ms. Shell? Here is the boy I told you about," the policeman says by way of introduction. You hear kids of a variety of ages somewhere deeper in the house. She looks down at you and smiles.
"So, you're the amnesia victim, huh?" she says. You aren't certain if she believes you can't remember your name or not. "I'm afraid you missed supper, but I could make you a sandwich or something."
She leads you into the house's kitchen and you see a number of boys and girls gathered in the living room. Some are watching television, a few seem to be reading, and some are gathered around a folding table doing something with dice, books paper and pencils. In the kitchen you take a seat at a table and notice a brown and white cat studying you from atop the refrigerator. It seems to think that you can't see it behind the cereal boxes.
After eating a sandwich and drinking a glass of milk Ms. Shell takes you around and introduces you to all the foster kids she has in her home. The introductions are a little awkward since you lack a name, and all the other kids already know each others names. She then leaves you with the kids while she makes up a place for you to stay.
In the living room there are some bookcases full of books, the kids watching some sort of reality show on television, and the kids at the table playing some sort of game similar to Dungeons & Dragons. Who do you decide to hang out with?
