The hours at Tony's passed surprisingly like they always had. They hung around, played video games, talked about random stuff, listened to some music, that sort of thing. The only real difference was that rather than being sprawled out on one of the chairs, Dawn found herself coiled up on the carpet next to the bed until the time came for her mum to pick her up.
Arriving back at the house, Dawn, exhausted from her day, opted to retire to her room. It was mostly unchanged; computer on the desk, draws and wardrobe where they had always been, the only difference was the bed. Instead of a normal bed, it was rounded with a particularly large blanked draped over it. She guessed that she was meant to coil up on it and cover herself with the blanket, using her tail as a pillow. It took some shifting around to get into a comfortable position but once she did she found herself drifting off into a deep peaceful sleep.
Back in his room, Tony lay on his bed staring at the ceiling. He was trying to imagine the Dylan Dawn had described to him, but no matter how much he tried he couldn't picture it. The rational part of his brain was telling him there was no way it could be possible, but the logic said that if it was true then it was already irrational. Eventually he settled with himself to give Dawn a chance on this. She had been his best friend for longer than he could remember, she deserved his support in whatever was going on, no matter how absurd it may be.
But still, he could not shake the feeling that it could not be true. In the end he decided he would wait till the morning to think about it more. If this book turned up, then hopefully it would give some answers.
