Richie tossed the dice and moved the 5 spaces indicated. He picked up the card that appeared and read it, then looked puzzled. "Your escape gets harder when you lose that which you don't want."
The others stared, seeing his face start to lose the nonhuman cast, scales fading and eyes becoming a normal bright blue. Richie was becoming fully human again, and when the change stopped, he was a normal-looking ten year old boy wearing a T-shirt, jeans and sneakers.
"I'm all human again!" He grinned. "This is awesome! I'm all normal again!"
Darwin snorted. "Yeah, except for being a kid."
Richie frowned. "Whatcha mean? I'm back to the way I was when we started the game!"
Kari stared at the boy. "Wait a minute. You think you are supposed to be ten?"
"Well, DUH!" Richie made a face. "I'm in fourth grade. If I was older, I'd have flunked."
Darwin sighed. "Yeah, I can see how he's going to have a harder time. He thinks like a ten year old, and doesn't have any of his older memeories."
