After 90% of the test subjects had died, who would want to unleash the virus on the world? In the best interest of the public, the reaserch team vowed to erase the infectuous virus they had wasted years creating. At any rate, it was only about an hours drive from the rural countryside to the complex where the mutating compounds would be destroyed. The foul cargo would be delivered to the sister facility via an 18 wheeler.
Oblivious as to the nature of his cargo, the young man at the head of the big tanker just wanted to get through with his early morning run. He was going about 75, and even on a flat country road, that's still dangerous. As he went over a small bridge, a tire blew out. The cab jerked sideways, detached from the cargo, and rolled several times with an already dead driver inside. The cargo, however, had caught on the bridge and now leaked clear, syrupy germ-stuff into the stream. The drivers troubles (and the scientists) were over, but down river someone’s troubles had only begun….
