Laura came too sometime later. She was on the couch in her office, and the first thing she saw was Gina's young and worried face. "Girls, she's awake!".
The team filed in, they were now at least half-dressed, shirts hanging to their knees or lower. They all looked so young...and yet...
Laura sat up, and realized how huge the couch was. She was naked, wrapped in a blanket, and her feet only dangled over the edge of the couch. "Oh my God..." she heard herself say in a little girl's voice.
Carol frowned. "Coach, you're smaller than any of us now."
Laura pulled away the towel. Her chest was almost completely flat, and her nipples were pink. She was very slender, without much baby fat, but she could tell she was very young. "How...how old do I look?"
Carol bit her lower lip. "Four? Maybe?"
"Oh. Four..."
Little Gina (not so little really now) hugged Laura. That made her feel better. "Ok...we can't stay here forever. Carol, you're the tallest, you think you could drive?"
Carol thought about it and nodded. "I'll probably have to sit on a book, but I should be able to."
Laura nodded. "Grab anything you need from the locker room, Carol, the keys to my van are in my desk, top right drawer. Go get it, bring it around the back doors. We'll slip out of the gym, then go to my house. I have money there, we can use that to get clothes and food.
"But what then, Coach? We're kids, and you..."
"I know Rachel, I'm practically a baby. But we're still women on the inside. So we'll deal with this like women...like a team. Maybe this...whatever it is...will wear off.
Or maybe other people will be affected, and someone will find a cure. Until then, we're on our own, and I'm thinking to head out of town. My parents house upstate would be fine, it's big, out in the middle of the woods, fully stocked with food, and nobody knows about it."
One by one the girls nodded their assent. They didn't want to go back to their families like this!
It was rough going, with only one girl able to drive, and if a cop pulled them over, they were toast.
The trip into Wal-Mart was fun too, with a bunch of half-naked girls trying on clothes, without any sign of parental supervision. Laura frowned at the outfit the girls had gotten for her. Hello Kitty, indeed!
But finally they made their way to their destination. It was there that Laura noticed another strange thing.
