Outside the ice cream parlor, you sit around a table with your various ice cream treats, watching people pass by.
"So what'd you think?" asks Angela.
"Two thumbs up!" says Steve with a grin.
"Yeah, I'll bet," says Jess. "Let me guess -- your favorite part was the locker room scene." That was a scene in which the protagonist, having wished himself unnoticeable, watches the cheerleaders shower and causes their breasts to enlarge through the magic of special effects.
Steve shrugs. "It was all right, I guess." He winks at you.
Angela turns to you and observes, "You've been kinda quiet, stud. What would you do if you got magic powers?"
You choke down a big bite of mint chocolate chip ice cream. "But I do have them." The movie kind of inspired you, and you figure revealing your powers to them might liven up the evening at the very least.
Angela laughs. Steve asks, "Hey, shouldn't you save the role playing until you two are alone?"
"I'm serious," you say, although it's a little hard to be serious with sticky green residue around your mouth. You grab a napkin and clean up.
"Then prove it, dude," Steve urges.
You suddenly realize that, so far, your words have caused everyone to accept the new reality. You hope this works: "Okay, you three, in addition to me, will notice any changes I make. And you won't freak out and scream, or run, or do anything to call attention to me."
"Got it," said Angela.
"Unlike the kid in the movie," you point out, "I don't have to say 'I wish.' Everything I say just, uh, comes true. Now, uh..."
"Turn me and Angela into hotties," blurts Jess.
"Aw, you're already hot enough," says Steve, and leans over to kiss her.
"Mmm, strawberry," says Jess, licking Steve's ice cream off her lips.
