Mike decided to wait a few minutes at least and see if an animal or two would drink from the pool. He wasn't dying, and if nothing came along in a reasonable period, he'd suck it up and take a drink.
He hid himself in some bushes and waited. The forest was calm and quiet this morning but there was the occational rustle of something in the distance. There were definitly animals out here, maybe even people. A few birds landed in the clearing to peck for insects, but none approached the water. Mike was about to give up on waiting for something to test it for him when he was shocked by what stepped out of the forest wall.
A woman, beautiful beyond beleif and naked as a jaybird save for some leaves in her hair, stepped out and crouched at the edge of the pool, drinking deeply. She even washed her slender arms with the water before vanishing off into the woods as quickly and silently as she came.
Mike sat in disbeleif for a long time. What the hell was that? The name Dryad suddenly popped into his mind. A beautiful woman, really some kind of forest fairy, that lived in a tree in the woods. What he didn't know is if they were freindly or not. Like everything else in this world that Ty set up, it could easily be a trap. Then again, she might be able to help.
On the upside, the water appeared to be safe to drink. But if he wanted to ask the dryad for help, he would have to do it quick!
