The restaurant your parents are taking you is a bit high class, so needing to change is understandable. You don't particularly like the place, but your parents go once or twice a month to treat themselves.
You enter your bedroom, expecting to see a button-down shirt and dress pants on your bed. What you find is a little different. The pants are standard black pants with creases down the front, but the rest of the outfit consists of clothes you've never seen before.
The shirt looks more like a blouse. It's light blue with puffy sleeves and shiny, pearl-like buttons. You see your usual polished black dress shoes on the floor, but instead of dress socks to go with them, there are two long brown stockings on the bed. You pick them up and notice they're translucent and stretchy. Pantyhose?
"Make sure you brush your hair," your mom says as she passes your doorway carrying her own outfit.
You stare in disbelief. You had forgotten that other aspects of the world were supposed to change along with your body. You shut your door and sit down on your bed, removing your shirt and pants. You see now that your body looks a little thinner, though your clothes seem to fit as well as ever.
The feeling of the pantyhose on your slightly hairy legs is irritating. You think you're going to have to take up shaving. When buttoning the blouse, you have some trouble because the buttons are on the opposite side than what you're used to.
When you're all done, you head into the bathroom and brush your hair. You manage to get some of the shagginess out, but there's nothing you can do about the unevenness of the cut. Hopefully that will grow out as the days go by.
In the blouse you look more girlish, although there are still some boy traits in your face. From the waist down, you look the same. You know the hose won't even be visible between your shoes and pants unless you're sitting down. You figure this is sort of an awkward stage in your transformation, where male and female elements of your life are going to get jumbled until your transformation has taken you well past the line between boy and girl.
You hear the front door open and your dad come home. Soon after, your mom calls you downstairs. With a deep breath, you leave the bathroom, wondering what other surprises you're in for.
