Stacy gave Alan a withering look "Nice try, but I happen to know Mitch and Dale are taking EACH OTHER to the dance. So are you going to tell me what's REALLY going on here or do I have to use force?"
Mitch, Dale and Alan stand in stunned silence for several minutes. Dale and Mitch can't help but look at each other and shake their heads. It was obvious now that they 'weren't in Kansas anymore' since they were not dating one another. In the meantime Stacy is tapping he paw on the floor impatiently. "Well?" she growled.
Alan went first. "Um promise not to tell?"
Stacy's reply was a warning growl. She was getting impatient.
"Guess we have no choice. Well, see, we aren't your Alan, Dale and Mitch. We hail from a slightly different universe. We were trying to turn ourselves into dogs - temporarily - but the spell got screwed up and somehow we ended up in this universe instead."
To their immense relief Stacy uncrossed her arms and smiled. "Well THAT explains a lot. I was wondering what happened." Suuddenly the three caught a whiff of embarrassment comming from her. "See I was trying to raise a Gate spell earlier today, when suddenly it vanished. I -um - have always wondered about other plains of existances." Stacy hung her head a little "Sorry you guys got trapped here."
"More like switched." said Dale. He had finally recovered enough from finding out his alternative self was gay to speak. "From what we've learned you Alan, Dale and Mitch were into becoming human just as we were into becoming dogs. And if we cast the spells at the same time the magical energies must have drawn on your Gate spell somehow, causing both a transformation and a switch."
Stacy frowned "But that doesn't make a lot of sense. I mean I was on the other side of campus when it happened..."
"What about Professor C? How long has he been here Stacy?" Mitch asked. He'd been wondering about the strange professor since they met. "I mean isn't it unusual that we stand in a university filled with dogs and he's a coyote?"
Stacy frowned "I know what your getting at Mitch, but I just don't know. I can't see why a deity would get involved..."
Alan answered "Because I summoned him by accident. If both of my selves implored the Trickster at the same time in two different universes - well wouldn't YOU be curious? And you have to admit, this has all the makings of a great gag."
Dale nodded "So now that we know what's going on, what do we do about it?"
