“Why hello Stacy!” Alan barks loudly as he springs to his paws and all but jumps over Mitch in his haste to get to the bitch.
“Fess up?” Dale asks, head cocking to the side as he looks questionably at the Border Collie bitch.
“Fess up to what?” Mitch asks, padding over to the group on all fours as his tail wags slowly.
Stacy flares her nostrils hoping for a clue to what she is now sure these dogs are trying to hide. “I’m waiting.”
Mitch looks to Dale and Alan then sighs as his tail tucks between his legs. “We might as well tell her guys.”
“But can we trust her?” Dale asks as his ears pan back against his head looking very reluctant, scent bordering nervousness.
“Stacy can you keep a secret?” Alan asks looking into the bitch’s eyes intently while her scent fills his nose. He surpresses a feeling, a strange urge to lick her muzzle, this intintive reaction though he is a bit puzzled by it. His tail takes on a slow wag as he inwardly tries to calm himself not wishing to tip the female canine off to his thoughts.
Dale growls softly at Alan. “Alan you better be sure about this if you tell her.” Tail raising as his ears and body posture take on a more commanding posture.
“Dale maybe she can help us?” Mitch offers trying to serve as the pack peacemaker while his tail takes on a hopeful wag.
“These two dogs do not have dates for tonight’s dance Stacy. And well they feel kind of embarrassed about it as every other dog in the dorm has a bitch friend that is going to the dance with them.” Alan glances at his two friends who have both turned to look at him in sudden surprise. Licking his nose quickly he quickly says more fearing his two packmates will try to maul him. “Dr. C is in charge of the dance or so we have been told. So the idea was he giving jobs at the dance to cover not having a bitch to dance with. But seeing you in the office...well it was feared anything said in front of you would...” He pauses to pant suddenly feeling kind of hot with all the pairs of eyes staring at him. “They simply did not wish to be laughed at Stacy. And well how could I take you to the dance if my best friends would be not going?” The room seems almost like time has stopped. Alan gives a nervous tail wag watching the three canines to wait for what will come now that the cat is out of the bag. Well In the human world he knows his friends did not have dates so its safe to think the same is true in this world so it's not exactly telling a lie. But will the Stacy of this world want to date him he wonders, suddenly feeling even more nervous as not one of the canines has said anything yet.
