Stacy starts laughing. "That is the most rediculas excuse I've ever heard!" Sje quickly changes demenor, looking very serious "Listen, and listen good you three. I want to help but I can't if you keep lying to me. I mean you three are giving off signals like crazy. What is it that you are trying to hide?"
The three stare ate each other. Finally Dale sighs. "Promise to keep a secret?"
Stacy gives him an icy stare.
"Um - right. Well, see we casst this spell and now we're not sure what happened. We were trying to turn ourselves into dogs..."
"You're ALREADY dogs." Stacy points out irritably.
"I mean we weren't dogs before. We were humans. The spell went crazy, and we're not sure if it turned the entire campus into dog-people with no memory of their former human lives or if we've been transported to a parallel universe somehow."
The wait breathlyessly as Stacy looks at them. To their immense relief, she smiles. "NOW you're talking. No scent of lying at all. Hmm so humans DO exist - at least in one universe."
Alan is slack-jawed "Y-you believe us."
Stacy smiles at him "Of course. I study gatting spells, remember? Alternate universes are my specialty. Now the problem is finding out what really happened to you three."
Mitch, Alan and Dale stand relieved. Now that they have Stacy as an ally it looks like things are going to get better for them.
"So where do we start?" asks Dale.
