Mary stood in silent shock for several moments, allowing her brain to catch up with what just happened. One moment, she was a gorgeous young blonde - the next, she was a comically fat woman with feathers, skinny yellow taloned feet, and a face which looked trapped between human and avian. Her bright blue eyes blinked rapidly as she glanced over at the mirror. If she hadn't known this was real, she'd have assumed she was looking at a Stan Winston type prosthetic effect for a movie.
"Bwarrrkk..." Mary clucked slowly, testing out her voice. Could she still form words? Was she that lucky? "Bbbbwaalloo... Hheellloo..." it was difficult, and her new beakmouth had to move in different ways to form sounds, but she could figure it out. Somehow, though, her slightly devolved brain wasn't figuring out that she could try to reverse the mutation.
After settling down the shock of transformation, Mary allowed herself to take note of the rumbling in her belly. She was starving. Becoming so large and fat clearly required food to sustain it, so on instinctual urging, Mary strode over to the kitchen, her steps more focused through her ankles, her head bobbing back and forth with each step.
She pulled open the pantry doors and rummaged around, clucking subconsciously as she filed through the foods until she settled on something suited for her enhanced pallette - a plastic jug full of popping corn.
