Jess neighed loud and clear. This isn't what she had in mind. Being a horse was enough new experience for the moment, thank you very much! She wiggled this way and that making it more difficult for the stallion to get in her. Mary ran up to the gate, worried for her friend. She ran up and clambered up the first rung of the fence and reached for the stallions bridle but he was too far. Mary leaned further in but wasn't close enough.
Jess, wild eyed and nostrils flaring, was doing everything she could to unseat the stallion. Using all her new found strength fueled by panic, Jess backed the two horses closer into the fence and Mary. Climbing to the other side of the fence to get closer still, Mary reached out and slapped the stallion on his neck and pulled the with all her might to get him off her friend. Jess seeing Mary pulling, worked to go the other direction.
With a snort of dismay, the stallion lost his balance and clomped off his almost-prize. He shook his head and stepped again towards Jess. Thinking quickly, Mary scrambled over to the gate and unlatched it. With a wave, Mary motioned the mare through just as the stallion walked determinedly back to try again. Latching the gate safely once Jess made it through.
Both friends, on the other side of the fence from the displeased stallion sighed with relief. Marry patted her friend's back. "Sorry about that Jess." Jess looked at Mary and snorted. "OK, how about we try something else since you've had all the fun." Mary giggled as Jess nodded her head forcefully.
The two walked back to the house, Jess waited outside while Mary went in to get the vials. With vials in arm, Mary led Jess to the stable and made sure the door was close so they wouldn't be interrupted.
"So, my horsey friend, what shall we try?"
