Halloween Approaches...

added 13 years ago A AR AP BM S

Mike and Jeremy had been really good friends for a long, long time. Ever since they met in middle school, in band class, they had stuck together.

Now, these guys were as different as the came. Mike was the "cool band kid," if there ever was such a thing like that. He played soccer, ran track, yadda yadda yadda. He got the girls, and had a big group of friends. He happened to play the saxophone, and, not surprisingly, could usually be found making a "So how's your SAX life coming?" to fellow members of his section. And yet, at heart, Mike was a nice guy. He was never a bully to anyone, and had humility that surprised even his closest friends at times.

Jeremy, on the other hand, was more of the "typical band kid." He played clarinet, and was probably one of the most enthusiastic kids about music in the school. Music Theory had been his sole elective for two years in a row now. He also enjoyed playing some good old Final Fantasy with his friends, and maybe some Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart as well. He was a scholar, and incredibly intelligent. He was also on the math team, where he constantly that there was almost nothing he couldn't figure out. But, like Mike, he was laid back as well. He took time to relax from his studies, and he never got too touchy or picky about things like some stereotypical nerds do. He would often take time to go running with Mike, or just to chill with him.

But enough with these two. Senior year was in full swing, and everyone was itching for some of the last Halloween tomfoolery that they might ever had. Everyone knew that this was the last year that they'd have a chance to pull off the costumed look, since obviously college kids were far too cool for that. Mike and Jeremy were not an exception. They had gone out with their group of friends that night, and after stuffing pillow cases full of unhealthy junk and having some good laughs, they decided to retire for the night.

On the way back to Mike's house, the two passed by the Old Haallo House. Neither of them could either fathom how many rumors had spread about this place. Endless tales of curses, deaths, and hauntings filled the halls of this place. No one knew when the last people to live in that house actually had done so, so that only added to the mystique of the house. It certainly didn't help that the house resembled your stereotypical haunted house: Old, Rotting, Wooden, Creaking, Boarded Up, you name it, it had it.

So naturally, the first thing to come to these boys' minds was "Let's go in there!"

As seniors, the two figured now would be the perfect time. Maybe just go in, stay 30 minutes, get freaked out like no other, and then leave. Perfect plan, nothing could go wrong. After all, they were seniors in high school! They weren't afraid of some stupid legends they told to 8-year olds to scare them shitless.

The door opened with an eerie creak, so utterly stereotypical they both had to laugh at it. As they both entered the dark manor, the door slammed shut behind them. Mike and Jeremy crept forward, not so confident now that they were actually in the house itself.

Out of the corner of his eye, Jeremy swore that he could of seen a light flashing upstairs.

"Mike!" he hissed. "Did you see that light just now? Please tell me you did."

"No, Jeremy, stop being so paranoid. You're just expecting to see phantom lights and stuff because we're in a haunted house."

"I want to go check it out real quick to see what's up. Do you want to come?" asked Jeremy.

"No, I'm not going to go chasing after your spirits, Jeremy. I'll be right here. Just come back soon, alright?"
------------------------------------

Jeremy could have sworn this is where he saw the light. But now he couldn't be so sure. He had come to what appeared to be a hallway, with 4 doors. There was certainly no one here, but what if they had ducked into one of the rooms just to freak him and Mike out? He desperately wanted to get to the bottom of this, what could it hurt if he had a peek?

Looking up, he saw four drawings on the doors. One was of a wolf, one was of a bat, one was of a ghost, and one was of some sort of human-ish figure, though pretty deformed. Kind of like Frankenstein's monster. Now, which one does he pick?
