Jen waddled to school, fully aware that despite earlier precautions, she was going to be late...again. Her only consolance was that everyone would obviously find it normal for her to be half chicken. Going was a bit slow, though. She wasn't used to being half chicken, after all, and learning how to get around was difficult. Her legs didn't want to move right - after all, her legs bent in a different direction now, and despite the fact that she felt lighter, the sheer shape of her chicken parts made walking difficult. The growing pain in her stomach didn't seem to help at all.
She finally came to the doors of the school and waddled in. There really weren't any stares her way, as if people didn't find it odd at all that there was a half-chicken girl slowly making her way down the halls.
"Your late!" Mrs. Higginson's voice called out as she opened the door to her classroom. "Just take your seat."
Jen found her seat, next to her best friend, Suzy. It was awkward getting in. Her stomach didn't seem to want to fit, and her legs had to be tucked underneith her on the chair.
Class itself was boring, as always. Jen's mind was largely focused on the pressure in her stomach. She was always trying to adjust herself to alleviate it, but it wasn't working so well.
"Do you need to go to the bathroom?" Mrs. Higginson called, clearly annoyed.
"I'll take her," Suzy said, grabbing Jen's hand and bringing her out of the classroom. "Geeze, Jen, didn't you do this before coming to school today!" she scolded as she brought her friend into the bathroom.
Suzy unrolled several roles of toilet paper and instructed Jen to sit.
"What is this?" Jen asked.
"Don't play stupid," Suzy said. "Is it that you don't like me to watch?"
Jen didn't have time to answer before the pressure had built up to the point where she felt the need to push. It was a time consuming process, but finally several eggs were pushed out into the toilet paper.
Jen looked at them in disbelief. They were quite large, and it felt so good to have them out. She noticed that her stomach looked smaller, too. Suzy began sticking them in a bag.
"I suppose the cooks will want these," she said. "They usually only want the ones you lay at the end of the school day. Your mom is going to get after you for not laying at home."
Life was definately going to be different.
