Rex walked he and Matt into the large cafeteria and stood in line while Matt rubbed their stomach as it loudly growled. They look at each other and smiled, doing their best to ignore all the people staring at them. Where ever they went they could hear people talking in hushed tones until they got close, then everyone around went silent and gawked at them.
Soon they were up to order, but the lunch lady didn't seem to hear what they wanted because she kept looking them up and down not knowing what to think. Matt waved Rex's hand in her face, "Um, hello? Did you get that?"
"Oh, sorry! I didn't mean to stare like that!" She shook her head vigorously before looking up at them with a smile. "So, what did you guys want again?"
"I'll have... I'd like... a Ham chicken burger burger, with onion fries rings." Matt and Rex blurted out their orders together at the same time, then glanced at each other slightly annoyed.
"Ok, one at a time please..." The lunch lady looked overwhelmed.
"Hamburger with fries please." Rex asked nicely, then she punched it in.
"Dude, a hamburger?" Matt looked disgusted, "You know I don't really like ground beef..."
"That's fine man." Rex shrugged their shoulders, "You don't have to eat it. We share a stomach remember?"
"So I'm just suppose to sit there while you eat?" Matt crossed their arms.
Rex turned his head and grinned, "You could always study your history!"
Matt couldn't keep a straight face and started cracking up with Rex, "Ya, well screw you too buddy."
"Sorry, but you guys are holding up the line. So, a hamburger with fries?" The lunch lady pointed behind them seeing the line along the wall and into the hallway.
"Oh shit, sorry!" Matt glanced behind him then back at her. "Could you make that onion rings instead?" She nodded and punched some buttons. Matt grinned at Rex, "It's ok bud, I'll eat those!"
"$10.50 please."
Matt and Rex used their own arm and fumbled around to get out their wallets. They glanced at each other and grinned before starting a game of rock-paper-scissors.
