Jon ordered a beer to start things off, and he ordered a lime daiquiri for Alexis. The bartender threw a large glass under one of the taps and quickly filled it to the brim. The large foamy head spilled over the glass and onto his three-fingered hands. He set the glass on the bar in front of Jon.
"For a pig dude, he's pretty fast," Jon quipped. Alexis frowned, hoping the man didn't hear the remark. He seemed to be doing something suspicious when he got to fixing her daiquiri. She couldn't see the glass, or what was in his hands as he mixed the drink.
Jon grabbed his glass and was set to chug a good portion of it, but Alexis touched his arm. At his puzzled expression, she shook her head and glanced at his beer.
Before Jon could say anything, the bartender placed the daiquiri in front of Alexis. She thanked him and waited until he walked down the bar a good ways.
"Did you see what he was doing to my drink?" she asked Jon.
"No. What was it?"
"I couldn't see, either, but it looked weird. Something about this place puts me on edge."
"What, aside from the pigs and the dogs and that freaky tentacle guy?" Jon snickered and raised the glass to his lips.
"Don't!" Alexis said. "I'm serious. You don't know the things I've heard about this island. We can have a lot of fun here, but only if we stay alert and make sure the things that happen to us are things we WANT to have happen to us."
"Paranoia doesn't make you any prettier," Jon scoffed. "That's what this beer is for."
Sonya glared at him. "Fine, then if there's nothing wrong here, why don't you test my drink? Make sure it isn't poisoned or something. After that you can have your stupid beer and as many more as you want and I'll shut up and be a submissive arm-candy girlfriend for the rest of the night."
