Carol watched, eyes wide, as the report came in that the plane crashed, ripping apart and scattering the passengers and crew aboard. Reporters were on their way to get some footage of the scene, but Carol shut off the television. Should she wake the girls? She didn't even know for sure if that was Audrey's plane or a different one. She decided to wait until she had more information, but that was going to be very hard. Should she at least tell the girls that there was a possibility that Audrey was in an accident? She paced throughout the kitchen, mind racing.

Uniformed men were immediately rushing onto the scene and helicoptors had been summoned to rush the injured to the National Medical Center of the Republic of Sakha. The scene they happened upon was devastating. People, many of them with torn limbs and rendered unrecognizable when the plan gave way underneith them, were scattered about. The relatively unhurt were in a panic and being led away from the accident to keep them from hindering the paramedics.
Two of the men found the unconscious figure of Audrey Smith, lying near the front of the wreck. No visible injuries could be seen, save for the blood that flowed freely from her temple. "Stabalize zis one immediately!" came the order.
