The next day across the street, Max, Mark, Scott, and Zack got a rude
awakening from Scott's alarm clock. All coordination was lost as the
four of them sleepily tried to turn the alarm off. Their limbs were
flying everywhere, receiving too commands from too many different
people. In the scuffle of wills, they fell to the floor, taking the
alarm clock with them.
Now wide awake, they moved their body to a sitting position. Scott
used one of their right arms to grab the alarm clock. It was 4:30.
Mark glared at his dad, "Why is your alarm set so early. The sun isn't
even out yet."
"Sorry" Scott replied. "I forgot to tell you guys last night. I have
to head in early. Your mom was going to take me to work, and then head
to her's. That means you two will have to drive yourselves and Zack to
school."
Max, with sleepy eyes, looked over at Scott. "Okay, well just because
you have to get up doesn't mean we have to."
Max concentrated on Scott. Max had gotten very proficient at fusing
and unfusing people now. If he concentrated really hard, he force
people touching him to fuse or unfuse.
Max continued to push, and within a moment, Scott was separated from
the three of them. Max turned his attention to his brothers. "Mark do
you want me to unfuse you as well?"
Mark shook his head. "You can do that later. Let's just get back to
bed."
"Okay," Max continued, "Zack do you want to un..." Zack had already
fallen back asleep. "Guess he won't mind if he stays with us." Mark
and Max then maneuvered their body to their room, waving good-bye to
Scott.
After they left his room, Scott walked into his bathroom. He was going
to take a shower, but something caught his eye. On the bathroom mirror
was a note. It read:
Good Morning Hubby,
I got home late last night. When I got home I saw the four of you
sleeping in our bed. It looked so cute, I couldn't but in. I am
sleeping in the guest bedroom. Don't forget to wake me up after your
shower.
Love Sharon
Scott smiled as he read this. He set the note on the counter, and
finished taking his shower. After that, he woke his wife in the guest
bedroom, and the two headed out for work.
