Luke was sound asleep, lying on top of Ethan with his head resting right beside his. Ethan was already awake with his arms around Luke, looking at the clock, he knew his alarm would go off any second, but wished that it never would. When it did, he quickly rolled them over, hit the snooze button, then rolled back how they had been before. Luke had woken up and lifted his head, looking at the time. '5:00' he thought, 'I guess if he needs to get up we should...' Luke looked down at Ethan who was staring back at him, "Shouldn't you get up?"
"I hit the snooze, should give me about ten more minutes." Ethan hugged Luke with his left arm, rubbing his head with the right, "Unless, you want to get up now..."
"No, that's ok." Luke lowered his head back down beside his Dad's so they were face to face, "Ten minutes doesn't seem long enough!" Neither one of them went back to sleep, they lay awake, Luke lifting up and down as they were breathing, listening and feeling their hearts beat in unison, and just enjoying the feel of being conjoined.
After ten minutes, the alarm started blaring again. They both sighed and rolled over to turn it off, putting Ethan on top of Luke, "Ok, well, I need to get up and start getting ready for work."
"Ok!" Luke grinned as he forced them to stand.
Ethan put his hand on Luke's shoulders and was about to push away, but Luke had already started to pull them to the hall. Ethan was confused as they turned into the bathroom, "Luke, I need to get ready... so can you just hang on for a sec?"
"I know! But why can't we get ready together?" Luke asked his dad with a broad smile.
"Isn't it a bit early for you to get ready for school?"
"Not if I want to go to work with you!" Luke caught the mix of emotions on his father's face. "Do you think anyone would notice your son growing out of your chest? It would be awesome! Please?!"
"No!" Ethan shook his head, "You have school!"
"Fine, but you're going to be late if we don't hurry up!" Luke pulled them all around the bathroom. They had a quick shower, shaved, and had gotten dressed then they stumbled their way downstairs to the kitchen. Luke had some cereal while Ethan had his coffee and toast. In total it took 20 minutes for both guys to get ready, usually it took double that. Luke patted his dad on the back as they stood at the front door, "See, two birds with one stone! Being conjoined has major advantages!"
Ethan chuckled and threw his coat on, "Ok Luke, I really need to go now. But I was wondering... Could I borrow the suit? I think I might want to try it out at work..."
"You don't need it dad." Luke stated, "You can combine at will remember?"
"Oh right, sorry, forgot." Ethan looked at his watch, "Ok, now I really need to go! If you want Luke, we can rejoin once I get home."
"Really?"
"Yup!" Ethan pushed Luke until they popped apart. "I really enjoy our... bonding."
"Ok! Sounds cool!" Luke and Ethan quickly hugged before Ethan ran out the door and off to work, leaving Luke alone and thinking about Max.
