Just as they were feeling all queasy they noticed the JV player
mounted on the school's gas powered lawn roller. The landscapers used
it before games to keep the field looking perfect. The engine roared
and Jay bore down on them.
"Hey, watch it!" yelled the Quarterback as he stepped forward
gesturing with the Gatorade soaked football in his hand to stop. He
never knew what hit him.
His paperthin body lay on the grass behind the roller. The football
held over his shoulder looked like he was about to throw it for a long
pass. The other players turned and ran into each other. The force of
the collisions reduced nearly half of them to cut-out status. The
others were so freaked out that they just stood there as Jay added
them to the JV team's collection. He couldn't wait to get them pasted
to the locker room and weight room walls.
Rod had his own plans, and let Jay think what he wanted. He shoved
Thad deep into his gym bag, and then he smiled as he poured some of
his elixir into Jay's unattended water bottle.
About 20 minutes later, Rod was ready and waiting when Jay drove up in
an electric golf cart with a trailer full of cut-out Varsity Football
players in tow.
"You got them all?" Rod asked in an admiring tone.
"Josh helped," laughed Jay, "Can you believe that he doused all the
other players with Gatorade and then drank some himself?"
"Yeah, I can. Who do you think gave me the flattening formula?" Rod
asked with a wink and grin.
"Josh?" Jay asked in a confused tone, "But why? He's flattened too?"
"Yeah, he is. Here you worked up a sweat, drink up," Rod ordered
handing Jay the bottle of tainted water.
Jay looked around the empty locker room and wondered where his JV team
mates were. Then he saw the notice on the white board: "JV PLAYERS GO
HOME - NO PRACTICE TODAY. VARSITY PLAYERS SUIT UP AND GET OUT ON THE
FIELD!"
He raised the water bottle to his lips and then...
