"What-hee hee-is happening-hee hee hee-to me?" Robin cried as she looked down at her arms. Her skin lost the tan she'd been working so hard on this summer and faded to a creamy white, while her nails turned glittering red.
"Robin," laughed Sally, unable to control herself," you're turning into a clown!"
And her clothes were changing too. Robin's jeans became lacy white bloomers while her shirt morphed into a red clown dress covered with white polka-dots, bordered with white lace, and fluffed up with white petticoats. On her feet her sneakers swelled into size 17 bubble-toed mary janes that matched her dress.
Quickly, Robin got off the couch and ran-or rather waddled, to the nearby mirror. Staring at her reflection, Robin could see that her lips were now bright red and stretched into a smile on a face as white as her arms. Short blue horizontal lines appeared on the outer side of both eyes, and blue triangles underneath. Her eyelids were shaded depp blue, and her eyelashes stretched to gigantic proportions. Red hearts were rouged onto her cheeks, and her blond hair had become fire-engine red, curled into a bushy afro, and topped by a white bow. In the center of her face was her nose, big, round, red, and covered with shiny glitter.
A strange involuntary giddiness filled up inside Robin. "He he he," she giggled. "Hee hee hee. HEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE!
