Ryan sat there on the carpet for a few moments, taking the time to mentally digest what had happened to him. He was a bear now: not even partially human, but entirely a bear. A glance down at his massive paw verified that.
Strangely enough, he wasn't freaked out, he wasn't upset in any way at all. The possibilities ahead of him were exciting, and he wasn't sure why. Once he found his friends and got them out safely, he could truly live as a bear was meant to, out in the wild, fishing salmon from rivers, enjoying nature as it was meant to be... the prospect was exciting. No job, no taxes, no schoolwork... just life, in its rawest and most natural form.
But first things first, he had to find his friends, make sure they were alright. He was changed into a bear to protect them, and that was what he would do. Somehow. He stood up on all fours, and slowly began padding up the stairway.
The light said they would remain unharmed if they kept from being stupid - so in that respect, he decided against calling out to them - he wasn't even sure if he could still speak anymore, even.
Up in the foyer, there wasn't any imemdiately visible sign of his friends. They had gone off to wherever they were headed. But he had the sensory prowess of a bear now - he could track down his friends like he never could before. He begins to focus his sense of smell, his sight, trying to pick up the trails any of his friends had left behind.
