It began when I made her clothes disappear

Experimenting on Aunt Cathy

added 13 years ago A O

After the initial shock of seeing a horse cleaning dirty dishes wore off, it became incredibly boring. Like watching paint dry in slow motion.

Time for a wish!

"I wish Aunt Cathy would get even dumber than she already is." I whispered, trying not to laugh.

The wish kicked in, and the horse staggered for a moment. She wobbled, a little dizzy, and then I heard her stupid horse's laugh. "Neiggggghheeeeee!" Oddly, she continued doing the dishes, only worse. She went to pick up a plate, dropped it, and looked in confusion at her hoof and the little broken plate bits everywhere. "Awwww darn!" She moaned in dismay, with an odd drawl. "It broke-ed!"

I tried not to laugh harder and whispered another wish. "I wish Aunt Cathy would turn into a total clumsy fool and get even dumber than that."

Cathy blinked suddenly, raised her head, and her very eyes themselves seemed to dim with fading intelligence. She took on a sleepy slack-jawed "duh" expression and she smacked her lips several times. "Uhhhhh?" She looked around the room, kicked her front leg lazily and blinked. "What was I doing??" She looked at the sink full of dishes and then at the stack of clean dishes in the other sink. She looked back at the water in the other sink, then back at the clean dishes. "Ohhh." And with that, she plunged her long face into the soapy dishwater and her eyes went wide. She raised her head slowly and her eyes crossed as she stared at the fork stabbed into the bridge of her equine nose. "Uh-oh. There's a fork in my face."

I emerged heroically out of the corner and announced my arrival at that moment. "Hey, Aunt Cathy! How's it-"

I was in for the second shock as a large brown horse screamed, jumped about four feet in the air, and proceeded to kick and twirl around in a frenzied panic, smashing a cupboard door off, denting the wall, and sending pots and pans clattering around everywhere. Cathy continued this for a moment more until she slipped on some of the cookware on the floor and fell to her stomach, all four legs splayed out under her. She looked at me, breathing heavily, and gulped. "James! Oh, it's you! You shouldn't sneak up on me like that!" She lowered her head sheepishly and looked around at the mess. Then her eyes widened and she realized there was still a fork in her nose. "Oh, hey, James! There's a fork in my nose!"

"How did it get there?" I asked innocently.

"Uh... I was cleaning the dishes, I guess?" She snorted a laugh. "Wanna help me out?"
